Pigeon Palooza
Board Game/ Print Design, Illustration

Project Aim
The objective was to deliver a board game design that provides a fresh new take or design on a classic game. The game of Ludo inspired the Chicago-themed pigeon racing game.
Differences of the game include stylized character cards, landing on a special space that prompts drawing an item card, special cards that offer unique obstacles and benefits throughout the game, and the overall theme drawing from the city of Chicago.
Development
Drawing inspiration from Ludo, the board game itself was developed in a similar format. The layout and premise overall followed the same objective of the original game.
In early development, a board game size was considered and sketches determined the layout of the board, as well as the box and other game components. Color palette considerations originally took inspiration from Chicago colors, but later expanded for a more vibrant feel.
Illustrating Components
Key considerations of Pigeon Palooza were illustrating the components, such as the board, characters, the game box, item cards and player guide.
In early mockups, test runs of the game were made to consider additional information and clarity needed in the player guide.

Final Stages
In the final stages of game creation, layout and output was inspected before creating the final deliverable and all of its components for the complete game.
